Job Description:
The Compliance Analyst will be part of the Compliance team overseeing the Know Your Customer, Anti-bribery, and Anti-money-laundering procedures under the Global Head of Ethics & Sustainability. The Compliance Analyst will require dual compliance and IT backgrounds with preferably an experience in commodity trading or the banking industry.
The Compliance Analyst will primarily support the Global Compliance team in diverse Compliance ongoing improvement projects, following the March 1st 2024’s Plea Agreement with the US Department of Justice. The Compliance Analyst may also support the Compliance function in both the supervision of the day-to-day analysis of counterparties, and the implementation and maintenance of various Compliance-related frameworks. This position is at group level and the incumbent will be assisting the team on compliance matters for all geographical zones where the company is present.
Main Responsibilities

Assisting in the design, building, improvement, and implementation of compliance risk mitigation tools, policies, and procedures

Supporting the Deputy Head of Ethics and Sustainability with the three-years plan improvement project in connection with the Plea Agreement from March 1stm 2024

Monitoring the effectiveness of the operations, procedures, and systems to which the company is required to adhere

Applying the required controls on targeted areas of the business (e.g., business development), implementing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

Working and assisting where required on Due Diligence, possibly conducting due diligence on new or current counterparties.

Ensuring a consistent approach to Know Your Customer and other compliance processes.

Assisting in the development and provision of Compliance training in various locations.

Supporting in cross-jurisdictional initiatives that raise the need for development of cross functional (e.g., HR, Legal, Finance or Internal Audit) dialogue, collaboration and mitigation of compliance risks.
Profile

University degree (e.g., legal, economics or other)

Proven IT skills, in particular relating to data analysis (degree or certification is a plus)

Compliance / KYC certifications are a plus.

3-5+ years compliance experience preferably in the commodity trading business or with an oil major. Alternatively in the banking sector or in a Big Four company (PwC, Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG etc.).

Experience of working in a highly dynamic environment

Proven KYC expertise to be able to be autonomous on KYC related tasks.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Candidate should be rigorous, process driven and goal oriented, and shall be able to navigate among various sets of data with ease and in full autonomy

Proven communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and conduct training at all levels of the company, and to interact with trading desks and management of the company.

Strong internal control orientation.

Proven ability in supporting the development Compliance systems and infrastructure.

Ability to support in developing a compliance culture within a company.

Experience of working with remote teams
