The Position
The position
The Health System Shaping & Access Lead is part of a self managed Pharma International HSS Chapter and the Pharma International Acceleration Team (PIAT) and acts as SME and Enabler supporting the achievement of our Disease Area and ‘Transversal’ (cross-DA) outcomes in close collaboration with our global, PIAT and affiliate colleagues.
Your accountabilities can include but are not limited to
- Proactively identifying trends in our external environment as well as challenges related to our portfolio and ensuring we proactively address these through aligned transversal (cross-DA) outcomes and ways of working with our Global Commercial Functions and affiliate colleagues
- Acting as steward, architect, coach and catalyst to DA and ‘Transversal’ Outcomes; helping the organization to prioritize work, measure progress and enable networks to co-create and implement impactful solutions while reducing duplications across affiliates, DAs and divisions
- Supporting PI DA leads and work packages with access & policy capabilities and deep subject-matter expertise to solve system and patient journey gaps; also helps to coordinate and leverage local expertise more broadly across the organization
- Enable and Accelerate Policy/Access/HSP teams with the implementation of strategic HSS plans (HIP) through identification of common challenges and by leveraging networks to drive impact at scale
- Supporting theoretical and on-the-job capability and competency building with focus on Policy/Access/HSP stakeholders; supporting talent in their development journey through meaningful rotations and WP involvement Capabilities, skills & experiences
What we are looking for in a candidate
- A university degree ideally combined with an MBA
- At least 10 years of experience working in senior commercial roles in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Working experience in different markets and in global or regional roles is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of macroeconomic, HC as well as access and policy related trends and how they are impacting our business
- Strong enterprise mindset, strategic thinking and business acumen as well as solid organizational knowledge
- Ability to lead multiple complex topics and initiatives simultaneously and effectively prioritize work
- Extensive access and/or policy experience from working within and across affiliates and/or in global roles, particularly in areas like HC funding and financing, HTA, Innovative pricing, Access Strategy, Shaping of health and data policies and guidelines
