Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer specializing in Active Directory to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Active Directory environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the Active Directory infrastructure that supports core organizational functions and other tools as required. This position requires a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise and a commitment to maintaining up-to-date best practices in AD management.
What you'll be doing
Design, Implement, and Manage Active Directory:
- Design, deploy, and manage Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including AD forests, domains, Organizational Units (OUs), Group Policies, trusts, and other tools as required.
- Maintain and support AD-related services, such as DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
- Implement Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security, software deployment, and other configurations.
- Develop and maintain AD forests, domains, organizational units (OUs), and trust relationships.
- Plan and implement AD schema extensions, upgrades, and migrations.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage AD security policies and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Conduct regular audits of AD objects, permissions, and policies to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Monitor AD for security breaches and respond to incidents.
Automation and Optimization:
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation of common AD tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Optimize AD performance and efficiency through regular tuning and updates.
Maintenance and Support:
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as backup and recovery, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for AD-related issues and other tools as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AD replication, authentication, and authorization issues.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with other IT teams to integrate AD with various applications and systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the AD environment, including architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Document AD configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to IT staff and end-users on AD-related topics.
Project Management:
- Lead or participate in AD-related projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.

Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers as needed.
What you'll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in managing and supporting Active Directory environments.

Experience with AD-related tools and technologies, such as Group Policy Management Console (GPMC), DNS, DHCP, ADUC, PowerShell, and Azure AD.

Experience with AD integration with cloud services (e.g., Azure AD) is a plus.

Strong knowledge of AD architecture, design, and implementation.

Proficiency in AD security best practices and compliance requirements.
