Data & Tech Solution Architect - Supply Chain (f/m/d)

Position Summary

As a Data & Tech Solution Architect, you will provide technology advisory for the Inventory to Deliver process area partnering closely with Supply Chain business stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions. You will focus on bridging the gap between Inventory to Deliver processes and technology solutions, including SAP, 3rd-party external systems and emerging supply chain technologies. In addition, this role plays a pivotal role in the company’s S/4Hana transformation, ensuring successful migration of legacy systems to the S/4Hana platform with a focus on logistics execution, warehouse management and technology ecosystem integration.

As a technology advisor, you will proactively recommend, design, and implement innovative solutions tailored to the Inventory to Deliver processes, helping the business leverage technology to drive efficiency and stay ahead in a competitive environment.

Initially an individual contributor role, this position will grow to include leadership responsibilities as the department expands.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Advisory for Inventory to Deliver Processes

Act as a trusted advisor to the supply chain function by understanding their strategic goals and identifying how technology can drive operational excellence. Stay up to date on emerging technologies in supply chain (e.g., AI, Automation) and provide recommendations for technology investments that align with the company’s business objectives.

End-To-End Solution Design

Lead solution design and architecture efforts, ensuring SAP, WMS, TMS, IM, and other technology platforms support and optimize Inventory to Deliver processes. Drive innovation by recommending future-state technologies that support logistics execution and overall supply chain operations.

SAP Configuration and Operational Execution

• Perform hands-on configuration within SAP to meet business requirements.
• Manage and resolve tickets related to SAP configuration, ensuring timely resolution of system issues impacting Inventory to Deliver processes.
• Provide daily support to ensure the smooth operation of SAP and 3rd-party systems, including troubleshooting and problem-solving, aligning with business operations to minimize disruptions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes in SAP as required, ensuring they are aligned with supply chain goals and operational needs.

S/4HANA Transformation

• Provide oversight and support for migrating existing SAP ECC systems to S/4HANA, focusing on inventory, logistics, warehousing, and transportation functionalities.
• Support design of future-state processes in partnership with logistics and supply chain stakeholders, ensuring that S/4HANA capabilities and related technologies meet current and future business requirements.

Technology Ownership

Serve as the primary owner of Inventory to Deliver technologies, ensuring that the enterprise architecture supports seamless operations from inventory management to final delivery. Proactively assess and improve existing systems to drive efficiency and scalability.

Project Leadership

Lead projects related to third-party logistics provider (3PL) integrations, WMS implementations, and other supply chain technology initiatives. Ensure that all integrations are executed with minimal disruption to operations and maximum value delivery to the business.

Cross-System Integration

Oversee seamless integration between SAP and external systems such as WMS, TMS, Track and Trace, and Carrier platforms. Ensure that data flows are consistent and accurate, optimizing end-to-end operational efficiency.

Technology Evaluation & Vendor Management

Assess, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, platforms, and vendors that can enhance logistics execution. Manage technology vendors, consulting partners and external contractors, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with the business’s goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in supply chain technology roles, with deep expertise in Logistics Execution and Inventory to Deliver processes, focusing on SAP and external logistics technologies.
• Proven experience in providing technology advisory services to logistics or supply chain teams, helping to shape technology strategies that improve business outcomes.
• Experience with SAP or S4/Hana deployments, especially in the Inventory to Deliver processes.
• Experience leading technology implementations, including 3PL and WMS integration projects, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in SAP Logistics modules (e.g., SAP LE, WM, EWM), with strong understanding of integrations with WMS, TMS, and carrier platforms.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies in supply chain, such as AI, automation, and how they can be applied to logistics operations.
• Experience with APIs, EDI, or other tools used for logistics technology integration (e.g., carrier management, track-and-trace).
• Ability to assess and implement innovative technology solutions that support the company’s logistics execution strategy.

Leadership & Communication

• Strong leadership skills, capable of leading in a matrix environment by influencing.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Process & Technology Integration

• Ability to connect business processes with technology architecture, ensuring scalability, operational efficiency, and integration across platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in SAP SD and MM, including integration with external applications and other SAP modules.
• Experience leading and mentoring other team members in both technical and strategic capacities.
