Introduction
Mayrig Bistrot, the first Western Armenian culinary establishment in Switzerland, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team. We are looking for a professional who is familiar with the full spectrum of classic dishes made by our mothers and grandmothers, as well with the cooking techniques that are specific to Western Armenian cuisine, in particular from the Armenian community of Aleppo in Syria. We are looking for someone who can create innovative dishes within this universe, and who is committed to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the entire kitchen operation, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Creating innovative and exciting new menu items that reflect our commitment to excellence.
- Managing kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Managing kitchen budget and ensuring cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
- 10 years experience as a Chef in a fine dining Western Armenian establishment such as Lavash, Mayass, Mayrig, or Mamig.
- Exceptional culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative dishes.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Fluency in Arabic, Armenian and English are mandatory. Strong command of Portuguese is an advantage.
