Position Overview
The Operations Master Data Specialist plays a critical role in the maintenance of master data for Exact Sciences. This position is responsible for supporting existing business and new product development projects by identifying, defining, and cleansing business critical data that drives the planning, manufacturing, and purchasing processes. This role is also responsible for documenting processes and developing subject matter experts (SMEs) within various operations functional areas and will support ongoing process improvement projects relating to SAP for the operations function of Exact Sciences.
This position is located in Madison, WI.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, collaboration partners, and business process owners to conduct comprehensive analysis on all Manufacturing and Supply Chain material management, addressing data creation, data quality, governance needs and dealing with all data interconnectivity with other systems.
- Support and execute plans to improve data practices for operational, reporting and analysis needs inclusive of development of processes, control and best business practices around data management.
- Promote an organizational understanding of data lifecycles from creation to end use, working with subject matter experts in various business functions, operations, and IT teams.
- Create and maintain process maps, data dictionary, data objects and user guides, to ensure a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Manage and support all site-specific projects with respect to new product launches, alternate material sources, alternate BOM/recipes, etc. and collaborate on required change control deliverables where applicable.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, leveraging SAP functionalities and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Provide support for SAP master data, addressing functional issues, incidents, and change requests.

- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
- Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
- Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, IT, Computer Sciences, Supply Chain Management or a related Data & Analytics field, or field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3+ years of experience using an ERP system, primarily in master data maintenance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working in a biotech manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
- Experience working in a GMP and/or ISO 13485 environment.
- Experience with creating dashboards in PowerBI and/or Tableau.
- Experience with writing standard operating procedures and providing training.
- Experience in a technical business user support capacity of the materials management and/or procurement planning modules in SAP.
Salary Range:
$67,000.00 - $109,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
