This is what you will do:
The Regional Sales Director, US Neurology will be responsible for maximizing revenue by driving sales activity and providing leadership to the Neurology Regional Account Manager field force of 6 Specialists in your regional area.
This individual will oversee implementation of the Alexion sales/marketing disease, diagnostic and branded education awareness programs. Maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers.
The RSD will report to the Senior Director, Area Sales Lead, Neurology, East and will be part of the US Neurology Business Unit.
You will be responsible for:
- Driving outstanding sales performance with your Regional Account Managers to ensure sales forecasts are met or exceeded. Effectively coaching the use of assigned resources to drive therapeutic and territory expectations. Working with RAMs to customize discussions and HCP interactions based on individual needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
- Maintaining current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers. Routinely sharing such information with relevant Alexion stakeholders (e.g., Sales and Commercial Leaders.)
- Providing input into resource allocation decisions across Region. Leading RAM Team to identify and select programs/resources available and appropriate for each customer, practice, and/or system.
- Regularly using a variety of analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business in order to best determine how to lead and coach your RAM Team to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources such as HCP educational programs, in an effective and ethical/compliant manner.
- Working with RAMs to develop a local business plans that ensures achievement of goals and sales objectives. Ensuring appropriate planning to drive effective implementation of the strategic plan.
- Attracting, retaining, and developing a high performing team
- Conducting regular field visits and business reviews, providing regular written and verbal feedback following customer and field visits that address and support both business development and career development needs of the RAM.
- Creating, building, and maintaining relationships and regular communication with physicians and key thought leaders.
- Leading RAM Team to develop new accounts and expand existing accounts
- Ensuring a high level of Clinical Acumen, Business Acumen and customer service is delivered to all customers.
- Ensuring cooperative and collaborative communication and execution between all internal stakeholders.
- Developing, Leading and Facilitating Team POA meetings
- Regular input to the Neurology TA regarding the US Brand Strategy for Alexion products.
- Conducting regular business reviews with the VP/Business Unit Lead of the Neurology Business Unit to ensure attainment of corporate sales objectives, alignment of goals, and personal development plans of employee and staff.
- Acting with integrity in compliance with laws, internal policies and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, is a role model to the team.
You will need to have:
- Degree in life science and/or business/marketing
- Proven track record of Employee Development & Performance Management
- Minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical or Equivalent Experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device)
- Extensive experience leading Manager-level staff and above and delivering results, preferred
- Experience in specialty sales, with Neurologist, Neuro-Immunologist and/ or orphan drug sales and launch experience preferred.
- Demonstrated successful experience with significantly expanding existing sales teams.
- Broad cross-functional experience in other commercial roles, such as Marketing, Sales Operations, Medical, National/Corporate Accounts, Managed Markets, Hospital Markets, etc.
- Experience with launching a biopharmaceutical preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving
- Ability to travel within US on a regular basis which may include overnight and/or weekend travel.

We would prefer for you to have:
- Advanced or Master’s degree ideal
- Bio/pharma; Neurology and/or Ophthalmology experience
