Job Description:

The Legal Counsel serve as primary support for all of Gunvor’s trading activities.

Main Responsilibities

• Help with the day to day transactional business of Gunvor’s European Gas and Power trading actiities. Reviewing agreements, confirmations and templates, givng general advice to the desk

• Structuring complex transactions and standardization of new transactions

• Provide support and guidance to the Contract Managers

• Help with new license applications, new grid and exchange applications, help on regulatory information requests.

• Direct contact with traders on a day to day basis

• Liaising with internal stakeholders and providing advice to the different departments

• Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically

• Liaise with the Global Head of Legal – LNG, Power and Gas to help plan the legal requirements of the Gas and Power desks of the Group.

Profile

• Qualified lawyer

• At least 6 years PQE in-house or in an international law firm dealing with transactional work in European gas and/or power

• Experience in gas, power and gasoil trading agreements (EFETs PPA, Acuerdo Marco, etc.) and non-trading agreements (balancing agreements, storage, license applications) either in house or private practice

• Experience with derivative transactions will be valued

• English fluency required, Spanish fluency highly desirable

• Good organizational and communication skills, good personal skills

• Ability to work independently and within a group

• Ability to manage multiple work activities and provide support and counsel to the trading, contracts and operations divisions

• Good team player
