Presentation
At the Institut de hautes études en administration publique (Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration) of the University of Lausanne an assistant/Ph.D. position (60-80%), commencing on February 1, 2025, or on a mutually agreed date.
The position is part of the Research Unit “Information Management” headed by Prof. Tobias Mettler. The candidates for this position are expected to conduct their Ph.D. thesis within the field of information systems, data studies, and/or information management in the public sector.

Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate : 60-80%
Workplace : University of Lausanne/IDHEAP
Your responsibilities
- Perform research work for Ph.D. thesis (40%)
- Collaborate in administrative and consulting activities of the research unit (20%)
Your qualifications
- Applicants should have the equivalent of a master’s degree in Information Systems, Management, Public Administration or Computer Science (preferably with a minor in Management) and have the following skills :
- Excellent skills in data analysis, statistical methods and programming;
- Knowledge in theory and methods of management science;
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and writing of a PhD thesis;
- Innovative, reliable, independent, and persistent;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Proficiency in French and German is an asset.
