As a Research Assistant, you will work with Sébastien Fernandez (EHL) and Nicolas Roulin (Saint Mary’s university) to carry out a SNF research project successfully from the beginning till the end. You will bring your curiosity and interest for the research topic which is at the crossroads of several domains and disciplines (vocational behavior, differential psychology, work psychology). You will help in finding participants, collect and analyze the data, contribute to the writing and dissemination of the knowledge gained from the study.
The research project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and aims to investigate how professional social media can benefit both job seekers and hiring organizations. The project aims at answering the following questions:
- RQ1: What personality traits, skills, and abilities impact how young adults use professional social media?
- RQ2: How do they relate to indicators found on LinkedIn? Why do professional social media convey valid information about job seekers?
- RQ3: How beneficial is it for job seekers to use professional social media as part of their job search?
- RQ4: Can we train raters to assess LinkedIn profiles more accurately?
- RQ5: What is the convergent validity and criterion-related validity of LinkedIn-based assessments?
What will you do ?
- Manage the research project logistics and administration.
- Support administrative tasks for EHL or for the SNSF when needed (e.g., financial reporting).
- Ensuring compliance with SNSF guidelines and submitted application.
- Assist in the development of the material for research.
- Support the search and review of literature.
- Participate in data collection.
- Contact key stakeholder to find participants and maintain contact with participants to ensure participation.
- Assist in the data analysis.
- Support the writing process.
- Managing references and ensuring their compliance with journal guidelines.
- Aid in increasing the project’s visibility.
Who you are ?
- You have Bachelor and Master in Organizational Psychology, Applied Psychology, Management, or Human Resources Management.
- You have Experience with quantitative research and statistical softwares.
- You have knowledge of the Swiss Universities landscape.
- You have strong analytical capabilities.
- You are detail oriented with a well-developed conscientiousness.
- You are able to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
- You are proactive and able to work in an autonomous manner.
- You are fluent in English, French and German (C2).
- You are available to start on the 01st of February 2025 at the latest.
