General Ledger Assistant (Maternity Cover) (Geneva - Switzerland)
The FIA is undergoing a transformation to modernize its organizational structure, processes, and systems. As a key contributor to our accounting team, the General Ledger Assistant will actively support this change, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations. Reporting to General Ledger Manager, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Participate in annual and interim closings: Prepare and review closing entries, conduct analyses, and perform consistency checks to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Perform ad hoc accounting processes: Support specific projects related to accounting transformation, such as improving data quality and automating repetitive tasks.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts: Ensure accuracy in general ledger account balances through regular reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
- Record closing entries: Prepare, document, and post all necessary entries for month-end and year-end closings in compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage daily accounting entries: Handle daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, adjustments, and accruals, to maintain up-to-date financial records
PROFILE:
- Degree in accounting
- Maximum 5 years of accounting experience ideally in an international environment
- Knowledge of Swiss Code of Obligations and/or French accounting standards
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, Sage X3 is a strong asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven experience with closing processes and reconciliation
- Proactive and adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills across departments
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
