FIBA, with global headquarters in Mies, Switzerland, is the world governing body of basketball and an independent association formed by 212 National Basketball Federations throughout the world. Our mission is to develop and promote the game of basketball, uniting the wider basketball community, which counts more than 450 million players and fans.
The FIBA Foundation is the social and legacy arm of FIBA that addresses the role of sports and particularly basketball in society, preserving and promoting basketball’s values and its cultural heritage. We implement Basketball For Good projects, which use basketball as a tool to create positive social change all around the world.
In order to increase the reach of our programs yet retain its quality, we are looking for an intern to join our team for a period of six months and provide additional support in the areas of project administration, impact assessment, and communication. You will be part of a young, international, and dynamic team and assist the Project Senior Associate with the concrete responsibilities outlined below:
Administration
- Assistance with project coordination and logistics.
- Revision and storage of applications (projects, Youth Leaders, volunteers).
- Assessment of Propose a Project applications on a rolling basis.
- Preparation of reports, documents, and presentations.
- Assistance with operations and logistics at FIBA Open 2025.
Impact Assessment
- Support with data collection based on existing tools.
- Review of existing evaluation strategy and tools.
- Assistance with the creation of the Basketball For Good Impact Report.
Communication
- Regular communication and follow-up with project beneficiaries.
- Creation and translation of project presentations.
- Assistance with the creation of communication campaigns for special dates.
- Identification of worthy communication pieces and stories of change.
Required Profile:
- University degree (sport for development, international relations, project management)
- Team player, basketball background, and/or experience in sport for development
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft (word, excel, power point)
- Results oriented and ready to tackle challenges in an intercultural environment
- Proficiency in English and French
- Swiss nationality or holding a valid Swiss work permit.
The earliest engagement date is the 3rd of February 2025. This role being an internship, we are only able to consider candidates who have recently finished their university degrees.
