The Regional Procurement Manager CH & EMEA, based in Zurich, will be responsible for overseeing operational procurement activities in the CH & EMEA region. He/She will be closely working with local stakeholders and global procurement SMEs to manage addressable supplier spend.
In order to support Julius Baer’s ongoing Procurement transformation, the Regional Procurement Manager for CH & EMEA will develop and execute location-specific procurement strategies aimed at actively organizing and managing the sourcing process of addressable spend for all stakeholders. This will involve defining and effectively managing local procurement practices, aligning resources and operations to maximize return on capital employed. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering cost-effective solutions for operational needs and leading initiatives focused on assisting stakeholders in reducing TCO for various products, and services procured by the business in the region. It is crucial for this individual to actively manage risks and ensure compliance with both external regulations and internal expectations.
The ability to establish credibility with internal stakeholders and influence them to embrace strategic changes is of utmost importance for the incumbent. It is crucial for them to possess a comprehensive understanding of the local and regional supply market and provide commercial leadership to identify opportunities for cost and supplier performance management.

IHRE AUFGABEN

  • Lead an operational procurement team of Buyers and Spot Buyers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Responsible for defining and implementing an effective procurement strategy for the CH & EMEA region that aligns with the overall global category strategies, business needs and company objectives

  • Manage local purchases from sourcing to contracting, including processing purchase orders and follow-up with suppliers

  • Manage local and regional supplier relationships including vendor risk management

  • Manage the internal stakeholders and act as sparring partner for departments to challenge demand & specifications

  • Implement Source-to-Pay processes in line with global standards

  • Provide training to local employees in source to pay processes, policies and procedures

  • Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Supply Chain
    Management, Procurement or similar relevant field

  • Recognised industry professional qualification (CIPS, CPA, CIMA or additional
    education/experience)

  • + 5 years relevant (indirect) procurement experience

  • Strong ability to think strategically and align regional procurement activities with the organization's global objectives

  • People management and leadership experience of a team of Operational Procurement, Buyers and Spot Buyers (~6 FTE in time)

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform strategic procurement decisions

  • Expertise in developing and implementing procurement procedures

  • Experience of interfacing with and influencing senior managers and business stakeholders as well as leading relationships with suppliers

  • Broad experience of working in sourcing or procurement roles

  • Strong negotiations skills with ability to work individually and result-oriented

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to integrity standards, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating people fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Team player who is open-minded, hands-on, a critical-thinker and has excellent problem solving skills

  • Very good written and spoken English, other local language(s) a plus

  • Strong MS Office skills especially Excel and relevant S2P tools

  • Procurement Experience within the financial industry

  • SAP or other experience across Source-to-Pay modules

  • Knowledge in data protection and financial market regulations
