What works well?

- ongoing training, course materials - materials provided

What could be improved?

- salary - benevolence in general, HR management, age of employees (you don't gallop at 50 like you did at 25) - employees' private lives (time spent in the bathroom, etc.), thermal imaging in common areas, etc.

What works well?

Everything you need! A wealth of tools for working, optimizing and training. Management is benevolent. No oppressive micromanagement. Priority is given to results and initiative.

What could be improved?

Office life has become almost non-existent. This is the flip side of telecommuting/no fixed place. It's not easy to fit in under these conditions.

What works well?

alas, in fact not much. The material, the technology is interesting, but the caricatured management of human resources and the very relative respect for the scientific field on the part of the commercial collaborators or pompously called "sales engineers", salesmen in fact, overshadow all the interest of working with quality products developed by passionate people, who undergo this infernal operation; one has the impression in the end of working in a store of pots and pans or oriental carpets ( hi-tech)...

What could be improved?

To be correct and honest with the employees and not to make them believe that there is a permanent position at stake, when it is not planned, for a pseudo position of temporary worker called "Extern" in the pseudo technical jargon of this company. Respect the collective agreements of the canton, work by task or "on call" is not authorized for assembly personnel in the canton of Geneva. 40 hours a week, some Siemens managers think that we could, for example, make employees work 5 hours a week without this posing a problem... For very young graduates coming from abroad, see the collective agreement for the metallurgy branch (HVAC, Electricians, Telematicians) Collective agreements provide a framework for working relationships to avoid all kinds of abuses, minimum wages, vacations, working hours, safety, employer's obligations. In case of doubt, you should contact the Unia union and not give in to the verbal assertions of department heads from foreign universities who do not know Swiss and cantonal legislation and especially the world of work outside the office! Also beware of temporary contracts disguised as permanent positions, which include the hourly rate paid by the hour with vacations and the 13th salary included, which gives an "inflated" salary. The day your temp assignment ends, no holiday pay will be paid to you since it is already included in the hourly wage! So calculate the gross wage you are asking for + the 13th + the vacations. Moreover, your contributions as a temporary worker give you the right to professional training. Foreigners, often young, are put in positions of responsibility, often underpaid, unaware of cantonal legislation, because they are formatted by managers who have undergone the same formatting and are also unaware of collective agreements.
