What works well?
The CHUV is the number one employer in the canton in the health sector. It offers a great experience in terms of diversity of care. Salaries are attractive compared to other health care institutions, but the gap is narrowing. The training offer is varied and interesting.
What could be improved?
The emphasis on their HR policy with transformational and caring leadership is just window dressing. It is a vertical hierarchy with information withheld at each level and no way for the "grassroots" to express their point of view. Most managers confuse management with leadership. The evolution in the company is essentially done by "pistons" at the goodwill of the managers and not on the skills. This company is a magnificent example of the Peter principle.
