What you'll do
This role requires an experienced Marketing Manager to work with our Government Services and Solutions (GSS) team, focusing on the particular communications needs of the US Government across the domains of Air, Land, USSF/Maritime, Special Operational Forces (SOF), and Special Programs. You will collaborate with our leadership team to develop domain-centric marketing campaigns to understand and target specific customer needs and ensure deeper market penetration.
The day-to-day
This role is responsible for developing, implementing and driving coordinated marcom campaigns aligned with the strategic vision for Viasat Government's GSS business area.
Key responsibilities:
Working with the VP of Marcom, you will lead all aspects of marketing strategy, planning and execution and budget management for GSS. Campaign management will include coordinating external and internal resources to deliver all forms of MARCOM in support of key business priorities including branding, marketing communications, public relations, product marketing, event management, social and digital media. The role will:
- Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop coordinated multichannel campaigns with specific objectives and measurement across customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging with corporate to advance the Viasat Government (VGOV) brand cross all marketing platforms
- Lead the execution of coordinated marketing campaigns from start to finish, including content development and content positioning, using internal and agency (where available) support and driving collaboration across businesses
- Analyze customer requirements, competition, market analyses and marketing best practices to understand the market requirements and build successful and effective campaigns
- Develop product positioning and deliver market-focused product offerings and product launch plans to the target markets, working closely with Corporate product marketing, technical, business development and sales teams
- Provide support to marketing/public relations strategy and thought leadership campaigns to reinforce a consistent company image in front of target audiences, including the media, government and industry partners
- Develop digital and print communications; maintain relationships with associated vendors
- Deliver marketing and communications subject matter expertise for the GSS team
- Work with the Events team and cross Government teams on event activity including conference, exhibitions, showcases, demonstrations and personalized briefing events
This role will be based in Reston, VA
What you'll need
- 5+ years' proven experience in a Marketing Communications role
- Proven experience utilizing marketing technology applications and platforms
- A creative problem-solver who will collaborate, inspire, and lead the coordination of tasks through various stages of technical discovery, creative development, and production
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence people and processes to meet deadlines and inform stakeholders of progress
- Comfortable with handling tough conversations around project scope, timelines, budget, etc.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities, juggle multiple projects, requests, and deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in Business to Government marketing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage challenging priorities
- Experience collaborating with external agencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or Business or equivalent experience
- US government position. US Citizenship required
- Ability to travel up to 20%

Salary range
$97,700.00 - $169,800.00 / annually
