The Department of Biomedicine is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need.

The newly established Cippà Lab at the Department of Biomedicine, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Technician to join our dynamic research team. Our focus lies in the regeneration of the kidney after acute kidney injury and the induction of immunological tolerance post-kidney transplantation. Your position
- Collaborate with group members by performing experiments and developing protocols.
- Connect with relevant staff within the DBM, serving as the main point of contact for practical aspects of lab management.
- Actively participate in our research team, working closely with undergraduates, PhD candidates, postdocs and the group leader.
Your profile
- Degree as a laboratory technician or in life sciences.
- Experience in academic research with wet lab experimental work.
- Experience with experimental work in mice (or a willingness to acquire this).
- Proficiency in various experimental techniques, including cell biology, molecular biology, cell culture.
- Experience with confocal microscopy, including sample preparation, histology, image acquisition, and data analysis, is considered an advantage.
- Strong team player, well-organized, and effective communicator.
- Fluent communication skills in English (and ideally in German).
