Role Purpose
The Global Head of Insurance Advisory and Channel Development will lead the strategic direction and execution of insurance advisory services and insurance-led (non bank) channel development initiatives across the organization in our designated locations.
This role is pivotal in delivering our insurance customers growth agenda and ambition specific on HNW and insurance-led channels (including international brokers, agency, Independent Financial Advisors, Insurance mobile salesforce, and personal wealth planners), with enhanced product offerings, investment on platforms, financial planning capability and customer journeys, and ensuring that our advisory services are aligned with customer needs and market trends. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and contributing to the overall growth of HSBC's insurance business globally.
Principal responsibilities
He/she will lead the engagement with key stakeholders (business and control/support functions) to deliver targeted business performance. Focus areas include:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive HNW in Asia and Insurance-led distribution strategy globally which aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Formulate a clear vision for the HNW and insurance financial advisory for Insurance-led channels, creating multi-year plans that anticipate market changes in different geographic location in Asia and Latin America
Oversight and Advisory Support: Provide oversight to insurance-led channel including Agency & FA operations, ensuring best practices in sales processes, customer engagement, and service delivery. Conduct regular performance reviews with salesforce and agency leaders to assess progress against targets and provide actionable feedback.
Insurance-led channel Development: Support the design, refinement and implementation of channel strategy on Recruitment, Retention, Incentive scheme and Insurance Academy, to enable the development of a high-performing salesforce to meet sales targets and drive business growth. Implement mentorship programs to nurture future executives, specifically targeting markets in Asia and Latin America.
Rewards & Recognition: establish a globally-consistent Rewards & Recognition framework, Establish clear performance metrics and KPIs to align with markets and monitor channel performance and drive accountability. Utilize advanced analytics to track sales performance, identify trends, and forecast future sales potential across all targeted markets.
Insights & Thought Leadership: track market trends and understand evolving customer demands. Share insights and support the development of plans and strategies for relevant product and customers propositions
Stakeholder Management: ensure sustained alignment with all risk stewards of regional/ global teams. Work closely with Global Insurance teams on executing the strategic initiatives on channel development and expansion. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including agency leaders, senior management, and external partners in designated markets.
Control & Governance: ensure that a robust FCC and sales conduct agenda is fully implemented. Support the transformation of distribution risk procedures both locally and globally with specific risk appetite and fit for purpose to support growth. Ensure all non bank channel activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies across the different jurisdictions. Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within the agency network and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Channel Optimization: Work closely with other distribution channels to identify synergies and enhance overall sales effectiveness in the tied financial advisory space. Support the implementation of technology solutions that streamline agency operations and enhance customer interactions.
