Job Description Summary
The Regional Project Engineering Interface Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the GSI Global Engineering Center (GSI GEC) Office and assigned GSI Global Region (NAM North America Region) considering the safety/quality/Cost/time delivery criteria. This role is pivotal in understanding the workload demands of the assigned region, coordinating resource allocation, and ensuring that project requirements and customer / local standards / practices are effectively communicated and implemented within the GSI GEC.
You will spend one month in each quarter in the assigned region to fulfill these responsibilities, fostering strong relationships and a deep understanding of regional needs.
This position will provide the candidate an ideal opportunity to develop the business development skills, problem solving and communication skills in a global environment and build up a network within the engineering community. The position will be guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Liaison Role:
Serve as the primary contact between the GSI GEC and the assigned global region.
Facilitate clear and effective communication of project requirements, customer standards, and regional needs.
Workload Coordination:
Project Support:
Collaborate with regional Project Engineering Managers & GSI GEC Project Engineering Managers to align project scopes and objectives.
Ensure that project deliverables meet quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
Support the implementation of standardized processes and best practices across regions.
Shall work & support on the design / engineering deliverables activity based on need basis of the projects.
Technical Leadership:
Oversee and coordinate engineering activities, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards.
Facilitate technical discussions and problem-solving sessions between the GSI GEC Office and the regional teams.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:
Travel and Regional Engagement:
Spend one month in each quarter in the assigned region to engage directly with local teams and customers.
Provide on-site support, training, and foster collaborative initiatives to enhance project alignment and success.
Key Value Drivers:
Support to PEM to Coordinate / Approval of Engineering Service Level Agreement with GSI Regions / Business Lines / Service Providers for the assigned projects.
Schedule Adherence for On-Time Delivery of Engineering Packages / Projects and as-sold / allocated budget.
T&M Management for assigned / project engineering team.
Skill Development for the team as per the requirement of the projects anticipating the future in line with requirement from the GSI Regions/Business Lines.
Implementing the Lean principles for the improvement on the engineering productivity and efficiency.
Taking a lead to get the validation of utilized manhours on the project for monthly invoicing.
Successor / Team Development.
Hit Rate of Bids Supported for the tenders for the GSI Regions (If Applicable).
Required Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems.
Min 8+ years of design / project engineering experience as a Lead Engineer or Project Engineering Manager in the EHV/HV electrical substations (AIS / GIS / HVDC / FACTS / Onshore / Offshore / Renewable/etc.,).
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and international projects.
Strong background in project technical management with diverse interfaces.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of engineering processes and project management methodologies.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in sectors like Oil & Gas and Power Transmission.
Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software (e.g., CAD, PDM/DMS).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities.
Skilled in influencing, relationship building, and problem-solving.
Other Requirements:
Fluent in English; additional language skills relevant to the assigned region are a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.
Adaptable to different cultural environments and working styles.

Experienced working alongside GE Vernova would be advantageous although non-critical.
