To be the local business partner responsible for IT and working as one seamless IT organisation with IKEA Business Solutions. To ensure IKEA technology solutions are delivered to high standards to meet the needs of customers and co-workers in order to enhance the whole IKEA shopping experience. To secure effective information technology (IT) that supports IKEA business processes by maintaining, developing, and supporting reliable, robust and efficient IT solutions. WHY YOU:
As the digital technical support specialist, you will be responsible to provide professional onsite IT support with a high service level as defined in the Service Level Agreements. You will be part of the Digital Team in the UK&IE. Secure the support for several Business IT Solutions and ensure knowledge is kept professionally up to date about advances in technology. Be part of a global organization with global routines, guidelines and tools used correctly within each business unit.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
• 1st / 2nd Line Technical Support experience
• Natural problem solver, demonstrate a logistical approach to systems fault diagnosis and rectification
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written ability to interact with other skilled trade professionals, designers, and customers (internally)
• Self-reliant and motivated with a proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Building key relationships with management team & co-workers
• Experience and knowledge of use of testing equipment and hand/power tools.
• String and pull up cables between cable management poles, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
• Perform and manage planned activities, such as IT installations, upgrades, local rebuilds and maintenance activities within the store and units.
• Act as 2nd line support to fulfil the IT Service Level Fulfilment targets in an efficient and professional manner.
• Perform all daily tasks according to set procedures, rules, and guidelines. Provide technical training to end users. Act as an ambassador for IKEA IT in the country.
• Maintain and ensure continuous uptime/availability of the onsite IT infrastructure.
• Participate as a resource in global projects and as a coordinator in local projects.
• Take necessary decisions and actions to solve issues, as well as prioritize issues according to business needs, and know when and how to escalate an issue in the support chain.
• Respond to IT emergency situations related to your unit.
• Contribute to the IT budget planning process when required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
This position is full time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, your usual hours will sit between 8am to 6pm. There would be occasional Sunday nights. There is also some work that can only be done at night/early morning so weekly night shift work be required.
You will be based at IKEA Dublin but you will be expected to travel to all IKEA sites within Ireland and occasionally Northern Ireland. You will also be expected travel to the UK mainland occasionally.
Overnight stays will be required in some instances. Someone who has a driver's license and owns transport would be preferred for this role.
