Contract length: The position is for a period of 2 years with a high probability of extension.
Activity rate: 50 %

Your responsibilities
E4S is responsible for the TRUE COST OF FOOD project, which began on 1.1.2024 and will run until 31.12.2027. More information on the project is available at: https://truecostoffood.ch/
For this project, we are looking for a motivated candidate to support the transversal tasks. These include coordinating the physical and virtual meetings of the consortium members, monitoring Swiss and international scientific publications and events relating to the True Cost of Food, internal and external communication, support for the implementation of the consortium agreement on the rules of communication and publication, and newsletter and social network management. The position also involves coordinating interdisciplinary relations and participating in scientific publications.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in macroeconomics, agricultural or environmental economics, and be keen to work on a wide range of topics important to shaping a fair, resilient, sustainable and inclusive food system.
Ideally, you will have a Masters degree in economics or public policy with a focus on applied economics, such as public economics, environment, agriculture or health. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with a Master's degree who have achieved outstanding results.
You could see yourself working in think tanks, research institutes, government institutions or NGOs around the world.
Fluency in English and a good knowledge of French are required, while knowledge of German is an advantage.
You are passionate about communicating your results and have good writing and communication skills, as demonstrated by previous writing. You have skills and first experience in facilitating meetings and participatory processes.
You have the ability to work independently as part of a small, dynamic team.
