We are expanding our dynamic and international Data Platform team to strengthen our cloud-based Data Mesh Architecture as part of our journey to the cloud. Our team is responsible for building and managing the foundational data platform that enables business teams to perform data analytics across the company for various use cases, including Business Intelligence (BI), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Platform Engineer to join us in driving the evolution of our platform, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions across the enterprise.
What would your role be?
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our Enterprise Data Platform. You will work closely with various teams to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and flexible enough to meet the diverse needs of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
Design and Development: Contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of our Enterprise Data Platform built on Snowflake, Azure, and Apache Airflow.
Frameworks and Tools: Develop abstractions, frameworks, and centralized services that can be scaled and utilized across the entire organization as part of our Data Mesh architecture.
Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to integrate new data sources and onboard analytics use cases.
Data Enablement: Empower our business units by providing the right data and converting raw data into actionable insights and value.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with the team to continuously improve our processes, tools, and methodologies to expand and maintain this strategic component of our next-generation technology landscape.
What are we looking for?
Background in computer science, engineering, and 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Strong programming skills (preferably in Python and SQL) and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
Strong Systems/DevOps Engineering background. Experience with Cloud Services, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, OpenTofu), Docker/Kubernetes, and familiarity with Linux systems and enterprise networking environments (firewalls, proxies, virtual networks, etc).
Experience with data transformation tools (e.g. dbt, pandas, Spark).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
