We are seeking a highly motivated Master's student to explore and develop an automated Request for Proposal (RFP) tool tailored for the asset management industry. The goal is to streamline the RFP process, reduce manual workload, and enhance efficiency by leveraging automation, AI, and structured data management.
Your responsibility
Analysis of Processes:
- Investigate the current RFP processes in asset management, identifying inefficiencies and challenges.
- Study industry best practices and technological advancements in automation, AI, and NLP for document handling. Provide an overview of existing methods for automated RFP tools, including 3rd party vendors
- Define a similarity measure against which semantic similarity of a new question in an RFP vs. an inventory of questions is measured.
- Identify a suitable data transformation method, e.g., Word2Vec or word histograms.
- Explore methods that can be used to identify targeted similarities, e.g., Support Vector Machines, Self-Organising Maps or others.
- Check results against a benchmark.
- Design a framework for an automated RFP tool that integrates with existing asset management workflows.
- Identify key features such as data extraction, response automation, and workflow optimization.
- Develop a proof-of-concept (PoC) and prototype of the tool using suitable technologies (e.g., AI-based document processing, rule-based automation).
- Build a ready-to-use user interface that allows to apply the tool in daily production.
- Collaborate with internal teams to test and validate the solution.
- Document findings, methodology, and outcomes for the master's thesis.
- Present results to stakeholders and provide recommendations for further development.
- Hands-on experience in a real-world financial industry challenge.
- Guidance from industry experts and technical mentors.
- Contribute to a strategic digitalization and Artificial Intelligence project.

Your qualification
- Enrolled in a Master's program in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in asset management and digital transformation.
- Knowledge of automation technologies, AI/NLP, and workflow optimization is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with programming (e.g., in Python) is essential. Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation an advantage but not required.
- Excellent communication skills in English, intermediate knowledge of German
