LALIVE is an international and independent law firm based in Switzerland, with offices in Geneva, Zurich and London, renowned for its expertise and experience in international legal matters, in particular dispute resolution.
We are looking for a dedicated, bright, and motivated Legal Assistant who has specialist experience in the filing of legal submissions, particularly with arbitral tribunals and/or Swiss courts. This role would suit an experienced a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Jurist, Clerk or equivalent, with experience working in litigation and/or disputes practices. The successful candidate will be based in our Geneva office, working in French and English as part of a cross-office and cross-departmental disputes team. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting electronic and paper filing of submissions with Swiss courts and/or arbitration tribunals, including document formatting, cite checking, preparation of electronic and hard-copy documents, and translation work, exhibit management.
- Supporting hearing preparations.
- Assisting lawyers with document and exhibit management, deadline management, procedural requirements and case preparation.
- Handling administrative and organisational tasks and providing general administrative support to lawyers, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, filing expense reports, and handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Drafting and proofreading of correspondence and legal documents in French and English.
- Managing the administration of client files, including physical and electronic filing and archiving.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as part of litigation/disputes legal teams, especially in the filing of legal submissions, especially in Swiss courts and/or international arbitral tribunals.
- Excellent accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
- Rigorous organisational skills, and a strong ability to prioritise.
- Responsive, pro-active, with a strong ownership of tasks and responsibilities; able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in providing administrative support and managing multiple tasks.
Ideally you will have 3 years’ experience gained a similar role, as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or equivalent. You will be fluent in English and French, and having business-level German would be a real advantage. You must be a confident and expert IT user, especially with Microsoft Office. Experience in using Exhibit Manager is a plus.
