The EPFL AI Center and Research Office (ReO) are seeking a Grant Writer to support EPFL's research community in developing, writing and submitting grant proposals to government agencies and foundations, with a focus on AI projects. The candidate is an individual with broad scientific interests and proven competence in grant proposal writing, ideally in the domain of AI. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team.
Tasks and responsibilities include
- As an active member of the AI Center and the ReO teams, work with principal investigators at EPFL to develop and implement grant application plans.
- Support the AI Center and principal investigators at all steps of the proposal writing and management process: identification of funding sources, preparation, coordination, writing and submission of grant applications (responsible for final review and submission of completed proposals if appropriate).
- Be proactive in identifying funding sources, matchmaking, and liaising with EPFL researchers to develop project ideas and proposals in the domain of AI.
- Ensure proper implementation of procedures and regulations, as well as document, archive and regularly update of all related policies.
- Contribute to teaching grant writing trainings and facilitating grant writing workshops.
The ideal candidate for the Grant Writer position will possess:
- A PhD degree (preferably STEM disciplines or AI), or equivalent experience;
- Skills and experience in designing, writing and editing complex multi-partner proposals, including reporting requirements;
- The ability to read, comprehend, interpret and apply funders' regulations and proposal guidelines;
- A flexible approach to work with excellent organization and time management skills, and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines;
- An energetic and proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and in a team, and to adapt to the individual needs of different stakeholders and researchers;
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills in English;
- Excellent office management software skills, good command of AI tools is a plus.
