Job Description
Job Title: Market Access Manager
Location: Saudi, Riyadh
About the role:
This role is responsible for field-based Market Access and will be leading, engaging & supporting key local influencers and decision makers to ensure formulary access and preference status of Takeda portfolio & support within G&L tenders
- Support achievement of formulary access and preference status of Takeda portfolio
- Support the achievement of win-win agreements with relevant customers to ensure TAKEDA portfolio introduction with the best possible profit and sales growth conditions
- Support regional business plans
- Coordinate, manage and support activities with regional stakeholders (incl. health authorities) which are aligned with strategy and contribute to obtaining, depending or optimising market access for Takeda’s portfolio
- Represent the company’s strategic policies and guidelines, working in synergy with the other Field Force colleagues and other company departments
- Monitor and document regional market access status, events and trends (incl. competitor market access). Use information to identify risks and/or opportunities and propose response actions
- Contribute to stakeholder perception of Takeda as a leader in care and a financially, socially and environmentally responsible company
- Ensure full compliance with business ethics and quality systems and procedures
- responsible for maximizing opportunities in tender channel supporting tender manager with submissions
- Development and execution of effective business model to support future growth including pricing, forecasting and budgeting
- Effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders to identify local opportunities for further growth
- Contribute to shaping assets’ market access strategy
- Contributes to setting assets’ pricing strategy
- External stakeholders’ mapping
- Develop products’ local value stories
- Manage all market access stakeholders related events
How you will contribute:
Implementing Brand access and Corporate Public affairs strategies
- Support achievement of formulary access and preference status of Takeda portfolio
- Support the achievement of win-win agreements with relevant customers to ensure TAKEDA portfolio introduction with the best possible profit and sales growth conditions
- Support regional business plans
- Coordinate, manage and support activities with regional stakeholders (incl. health authorities) which are aligned with strategy and contribute to obtaining, defending or optimising market access for Takeda’s portfolio
Interaction with internal & external customers and key stakeholders
Independently and by supporting colleagues internally, the role will seek to:
- Gain influence among payers and other key decision makers
- Contribute effectively in external meetings, conferences and relevant Takeda meetings (local, national or regional level)
- Represent the company’s strategic policies and guidelines, working in synergy with the other Field Force colleagues and other company departments
- Monitor and document regional market access status, events and trends (incl. competitor market access). Use information to identify risks and/or opportunities and propose response actions
- Customer relationships management including contract management and customer order processing.
- Contribute and support tender manager with the development and tender submissions.
Process Coordination innovation & change
- A high degree of innovation is a must, as market access and public affairs are rapidly evolving disciplines, with substantial business impact
- Execute tasks and activities to secure formulary access and preference status of Takeda portfolio
- Develop and implement innovative MAPA initiatives and tools (incl. best-practice sharing to improve business across affiliate, business area and region
What you bring to Takeda:
Educational Qualification
University Degree (preferably in Pharmaceutical or Social Sciences)
Relevant Experience & Knowledge
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within pharmaceutical industry or equivalent
Skills & Behavioural Competencies
- Deep understanding of Business Area/Country healthcare and reimbursement system
- Solid experience within pharmaceutical industry
- Solid industry experience in complex & sophisticated markets
- Strong strategic planning and strategy execution skills
- Complexity and Problem Solving skill
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate product and environment knowledge and develop understanding on internal Tenders’ and Pricing systems and procedures
- Support pre-launch and launch pricing activities of new products as and when needed
- Execute business related actions in line with the industry code of ethics and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with key stakeholders in all accounts at area level i.e. purchasing committee members, pharmacists, finance department, supply department, hospital store managers in-order to position Takeda as a strategic partner
- Gather market intelligence data in-order to assess impact on Takeda operations and suggest timely action plan
- Oversee the account’s ordering cycle for all portfolio products for local purchasing and tenders in-order to ensure optimal market penetration
- Assess and mitigate risks on business in terms of price cuts, competitors’ threat and alternative source of supply
- Commercial acumen and tender legislation knowledge
- Experience in tender / hospital business (Pharma market only)
- Excellent communication skills: able to conduct effective negotiations to ensure win-win solutions
