We are looking for a MSAT Tech Transfer & Validation Lead who is eager to join us in our Internal & External Manufacturing Large Molecules MSAT team, based in our biotech, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing site in Bulle, Switzerland.
About the role
As a MSAT Tech Transfer & Validation Lead, you will lead process Tech Transfers from Development to Manufacturing (both internal and CMOs) and between commercial plants and support commercial-scale validation of microbial biotech processes.
You will also monitor manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities, coordinate small-scale testing and validation, and participate in Health Authority inspections.
This role serves as a critical link between development and manufacturing teams, ensuring effective feedback and continuous process enhancements.
What you’ll do
- Drive process Tech Transfers from Development to Internal Manufacturing & CMOs and support commercial-scale process validation for microbial biotechnological manufacturing processes.
- Drive process Tech Transfers between commercial plants, and support process validations in new plants for microbial biotechnological manufacturing processes.
- Provide routine support for manufacturing campaigns, CPV, process and equipment performance trending, new equipment or raw material qualification, first-line troubleshooting and second line troubleshooting for CMOs.
- Support periodic reviews and Health Authority (HA) inspections.
- Monitor commercial manufacturing and identify improvement opportunities within the limits of the approved parameters.
- Coordinate testing at small scale, validate and implement process improvements within the limits of approved parameters, including review of protocols and reports for small-scale studies.
- Liaise with development teams to provide feedback on platform process performance and/or request 2nd generation process development.

- Master’s degree in biology, biotechnology or other life sciences-related fields.
- Strong understanding of biotechnological manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience in Tech Transfer and validation of biotechnological manufacturing processes, or in other MSAT-related activities.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to scope, research and understand complex subjects related to biotech manufacturing.
- High capacity to anticipate issues, identify priorities and make decisions.
- High level of autonomy and good stress management skills.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to define objectives and how to reach them.
- Solution-oriented and sensitive to customer needs.
- Pragmatic and critical-minded.
- Sense of responsibility and ownership, and initiative.

- Excellent communication skills, for communicating with internal and external partners.
- Excellent level of spoken and written French and English.
