Role Summary:
The Network Infrastructure Planner is responsible for the design, planning, and management of all GTT Network POP facilities and associated infrastructure. Related inventory components include colocation vendor, power, racks/cabinets, network hardware, cabling and cfa management.
Job Scope/Supervision:
This role involves collaborating with various departments, including Network Engineering, to assess network needs, develop strategies, and implement solutions that align with the company’s goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct POP capacity planning.
- Monitor and report on Network inventory to include
- Used and available ports
- Used and available CFA
- Used and available power
- Develop and implement POP infrastructure optimization strategies.
- Develop Engineering hardware deployment templates and guidelines.
- Monitor and report on variable power usage.
- Report on overall power usage-over provisioned/under provisioned
- Monitor hardware license usage
- Manage colocation inventory contract terms and renewal dates
- Ensure network inventory is properly mapped and linked in the corporate financial database
- Prepare and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- 4+ years of industry experience with a proven track record.
- Experience in supporting and deploying POP builds within carrier neutral datacenters
- Proven experience as a POP infrastructure Planner or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of POP facility planning, structured cabling, and power management.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting, upgrading, and managing carrier network hardware, Juniper experience preferred.
- A strong working knowledge of carrier class data centers and standards.
- Ability to take complete ownership of large projects and deliver these to a high standard against tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and able to solve technical and logistical problems.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 depending on relevant skills and experience.
