Data Engineer with Affinity to Software Development

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Data Engineer with a strong affinity for software development to join our team.

What would your role be?

Independently solve tasks in the area of optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of sources

Be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems

Take ownership in the development and maintenance of the operations and support of our data orchestration systems

Provide software development support to our research teams with focus on scalability and automation

Contribute to solution development in an agile delivery environment

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:

Must-haves:

Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases

Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets

Strong experience with Python and software development principles, with a focus on supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement

Proficiency in written and spoken German and English

Nice-to-haves:

Knowledge in other general purpose programming languages

Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure and Snowflake

Experience in the financial industry
