About us:
Daedalean is a Zürich-based startup founded by experienced engineers who want to completely revolutionize air travel within the next decade. We combine computer vision, deep learning, and robotics to develop full “level-5” autonomy for flying vehicles.
Your role:
To come up with algorithms and code to automate how aircraft fly, sometimes replacing the human pilot, sometimes augmenting what they do. Specifically, you will develop safety critical algorithms and software for visual guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, making use of the ML in practical applications.
\n
- At least 5 years of hardcore C++ software engineering experience, and
- Affection towards elegant algorithms, and
- Proven research skills, and
- Proven applied engineering skills.
Experience in the following areas will be relevant and considered as a plus:
- Robotics and control, e.g. motion planning in the air or on the ground; sensor fusion; real time solving of inverse kinematic equations.
- Games or graphics programming, e.g. high performance rendering.
- General or commercial aviation, e.g. you have experience flying for fun or profit; you understand what a human needs to do while in the air and can help us convert those skills to software with safety-critical standards in mind; an understanding of airspace regulations.
- Drones, e.g. you have experience with building Ardupilot/PX4 companion computers; you have experience setting up autopilot for custom-built drone; you hold an A1/A3 license.
Experience in aerospace engineering or avionics is not required; we will teach you everything you need to know about the constraints of safety critical systems in airworthy applications.
- A team of experienced engineers and researchers, who joined us from most recognized companies and institutions.
- Difficult and interesting problems to solve.
- Pilot license subsidy.
- Hybrid work setting.
- Learning & Development budget: visit conferences of your choice.
- Gym membership.
