EPFL is constantly evolving with regards to education. In an ambition to be part of a networked action of technical universities in Europe, designing the future of engineering education together, EPFL joined the EuroTeQ project in 2023 ( https://euroteq.eurotech-universities.eu/ ). EuroTeQ works towards a joint open EuroTeQ Campus promoting "future-proof" study programmes and lifelong learning that help learners to contribute to the changing needs and challenges of society.
The EuroTeQ project includes the creation and sharing of open courses, the development of common lifelong learning initiatives, and the creation of an engineering education clearing house on the EuroTeQ signature pedagogies.
In the context of this project, we are looking for a project coordinator for two missions:
- to coordinate the creation of new online or hybrid doctoral courses that can be integrated in the EuroTeQ course catalogue, to promote these courses and organise related events
- to coordinate the creation of common programs, degrees, regulatory frameworks, activities and communities that relate to continuing education and lifelong learning.
The position entails working closely with two units anchored at the Associate Vice-presidency for Doctoral and Lifelong Education: EPFL's Extension School, and the Doctoral school.
The position will be part of a cross-unit diverse team allowing for rich collaboration and benefitting on colleagues' expertise (e.g. professors, pedagogical advisors, educational researchers, industry liaison officers etc).
Coordinate the participation of EPFL in the EuroTeQ course catalogue (20% of working time)
- Identify opportunities (topics, course leaders) for the creation of new hybrid or online doctoral courses within EPFL and jointly with partners in the EuroTeQ project
- Handle course registrations for EPFL students taking partner courses (outgoing) and students from partner universities taking EPFL courses (incoming)
Coordination of the continuing education/ lifelong learning work package (40% of working time)
- Identify best practices, approaches and topics that can lead to the creation of common microcredentials across EuroteQ partners
- Identify opportunities for EPFL to contribute into EuroteQ's Joint Executive Program, including through the creation of new relevant courses
- Connect with EuroteQ members to ensure the Learning Compass stays up to date
- Identify and convince colleagues (including faculty members) at EPFL to participate in and contribute to discussions, networks and events around Europe on Lifelong Learning.
- Experience with project management and coordination of projects ; experience with EU projects and industry experience is a plus
- Familiarity with engineering education
- Capacity to work with diverse stakeholders
- Solution-orientation, initiative-taking, team player
- Very good mastery of English, mastery of French is a plus
