Hitachi Energy Research, in close collaboration with business areas, is developing foundations for the next generation of Power Grids products. Located in the proximity of Zurich, the research center employs approximately 60 scientists from all over the world with cross-disciplinary expertise. In the System Integration and Physics Group, we perform cutting-edge research and look at various aspects of making the power system stronger, smarter and greener. How you’ll make an impact

Develop multi-physics models for simulating components of high voltage equipment

Your Background

Currently pursuing an MSc degree in physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, computational science or a similar subject – official enrolment is essential

Basic understanding of partial differential equations, electromagnetics and thermal physics

Experience with simulation and modeling with Matlab or Python. Knowledge of with multi-physics software, such as COMSOL would be a plus

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Enthusiastic, motivated and curious team player with good organizational skills

Availability for 6 months, with the possibility of further extension
