This position sits in the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) group, which is part of our Global Portfolio Division comprised of approximately 10,000 employees spanning over 70 countries. Our GPLS organization is responsible for our global product strategy organization focused on fueling the growth of Takeda through our inline portfolio strategy and focus on the life cycle management as well as on launching the future by focusing on our rich pipeline. Our key goal is to prepare to commercialize our unprecedented pipeline that includes best-in-class or in first-class therapies, many of which have complex or under-developed markets or therapy areas.
Objectives:
-
Deliver early Market Access strategy and tactics for TAK360, TAK-925 and TAK-861/Orexin LCM opportunities within Neuroscience portfolio to inform evidence generation plans that convey the value of the assets/indications.

Provide a single point of contact for all market access needs and activities for Orexin pipeline initiatives within Neuroscience Franchise.

Provide input into clinical development programs for orexins programs as needed to ensure the right evidence is collected to support reimbursement and pricing negotiations.

Understand the access and payer evidence needs and propose strategic, implementable solutions to support reimbursement, sustainable value and patient access.
Accountabilities:
-
Be an active member of a cross-functional Global Pricing and Access team within selected Global Product Teams that develop and deliver an integrated patient access and value strategy for all early assets and BD products based on a deep understanding of the science and disease, patient and care giver needs, and the evolving payer landscape and evidence requirements.

Partner with major countries and Global Market Insights teams to ensure that the market access and value strategy contributes to the definition of the asset strategy of each relevant pipeline product so that at launch the product delivers the value proposition most relevant to payers and is supported by a robust global value story, compelling evidence package, and pricing strategy to maximize both patient access and the life-time value of the product.

Work very closely with GHE & Pricing colleagues to ensure “one Team one voice” within the entire organization. Represent GPA voice and position in the various key meetings leverage and ensure right representation of GPA key expertise (GHE, Pricing) whenever relevant.

Evaluate and influence evidence generation plans by synthesizing payer/HTA insights. Anticipate the outcomes of key HTA body assessments to determine the implications for value positioning and evidence requirements.

Support GPA preparation to all key governance meetings (PRC, CLC).

Develop the global, integrated Market Access Plan (TVP in collaboration with GHE, Evidence, Strategic Pricing, Stakeholder Engagement and LOC Implementation) and implement Access deliverables to achieve successful reimbursement and pricing for Takeda’s assigned Therapeutic Area products.

Explore and develop innovative access frameworks that consider and anticipate the evolving health care environment to create win-win-win situations for patients, payers and Takeda.

Lead horizon scanning and in-depth understanding of payer regulations and priorities, and the needs of all payer types (e.g. HTA agencies, institutions, and patients) across major countries and/or archetypes.

Collaborate closely with Regions and Local Operating Companies (LOCs) to ensure external payer focus and recent trends in Therapeutic Area are incorporated into Global asset strategy, and lead training initiatives to enhance the understanding of Market Access with key internal stakeholders.

Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills:
-
Bachelors degree required, advanced degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MPH, MPA, PharmD) preferred.

10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience, minimum 5 years of market access experience with demonstrated success in developing market access strategies at a global and local level including pricing, reimbursement and access. Neuroscience experience, and especially Alzheimer Disease, is a plus.

Strong understanding of global markets and payer environment, (e.g. HTAs, payer coverage and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, formulary management, health technology assessment and payment policy). Direct experience in payer negotiations desirable.

Strong negotiating skills and ability to develop relationships and appropriately influence internal and external stakeholders, ideally from local experience influencing and leading access and pricing negotiations in relevant geographic markets.

Excellence in strategic thinking, problems solving, analytical ability and cross-functional collaboration at global, regional and local level.

Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills while addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Ability to make clear business arguments and strategic recommendations leveraging both quantitative and qualitative evidence, and make decisions with limited information.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
