As the new chairholder, you will be in charge of the Orthopaedic Clinic at the Fribourg Hospital HFR. You will be responsible for the teaching of medical students, the clinical training and continuing and advanced education of the medical profession, the promotion of junior doctors, as well as for research in the field of Orthopaedics Surgery, particularly with a clinical and translational focus. The HFR is the academic training hospital of the University of Fribourg, which since 2019 is the sixth university in Switzerland to offer the full curriculum of medical studies. The Clinic for Orthopaedic Surgery is one of the largest clinic of the HFR and accredited as an A2-clinic by the SIWF (Swiss Institute for continuing and advanced education).
Exigences
The requirements for this position are a habilitation or an equivalent academic record of achievement, an internationally recognized research track record. We search a candidate, with research and clinical expertise focused on either foot, shoulder/elbow, knee, hip or septic surgery. The University of Fribourg is bilingual, French and German. Knowledge of the second language (level B1 oral) is expected. If this is not the case, it must be acquired within two years of taking up the position.
We are looking for an experienced clinician with management, leadership and teaching experience, ability to integrate, willingness to cooperate and a strong commitment to equality and the promotion of junior researchers. Candidates are expected to conduct independent clinical research at a high level and to acquire future third-party funding. As a communicative person of integrity, you will be able to master the challenges of the surgery department and coordinate the needs of a hospital with multiple locations.
