The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading not-for-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The school employs approximately 250 members of staff on its campus where we welcome approximately 850 students from over 60 nationalities, from 3 to 18 years of age.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced
This new post will play a key part in our strategic increase in specialist provision across both the primary and secondary schools. We aim to establish an exceptional level of support for all students and to facilitate the referral and evaluation process for families. The new post holder will join an experienced student support services team across the school.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide school psychological services for students identified by Student Support Services.
- Identify and assess the learning, development, and social/ behavioural characteristics and needs of students, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and behaviour.
- Diagnose a variety of disabilities as defined in the DSM-V or ICD.
- Ensure the process for the evaluation of students is followed, including, but not limited to observation, selection, and administration of norm-referenced assessments and the writing of reports.
- Contribute to the provision of immediate support and intervention in crisis situations.
- Ensure the sharing of timely and relevant information with parents and other stakeholders.
- Provide teachers and other school personnel with strategies to support diverse learners and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Participate in and provide in-school professional development to upskill the school community.
Desired profile:
- Master’s degree from an accredited university with certification in School Psychology.
- Current School Psychologist certification and licensure for ages 4 - 21.
- Level C Qualification at Pearson with a high level of expertise in test interpretation.
- At least three years’ experience working in a school as a school psychologist in an international school setting.
- Demonstrated reliability in current position including an excellent attendance record.
- Candidates who have a strong working knowledge of French (ideally bilingual in English and French) will be highly considered.
- Capacity to work with students, families, and staff from a variety of cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work and plan collaboratively.
- Commitment to student well-being.
- Ability to effectively use technology to track student progress, assess program effectiveness, and inform decision-making.
- Commitment to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Efficient communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, and staff.
- Strong organisational skills to ensure efficient management of the workload.
