Lead Data Engineer Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Engineer with knowledge of Azure to join us in Geneva in a position that requires a mix of remote and on-site work in a hybrid model.
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with our client (Swiss based bank) undertaking a full cloud migration program and executing data migration activities.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies from Azure
- Execute the data migration project according to the plan
- Share data engineering experience when communicating with the client about their requirements, turning these into technical data solutions
- Build and deliver data solutions using Azure products
- Build documentation for operating the provided solution
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional data engineering experience
- Experience with Azure SQL DB and Azure SQL MI for provisioning, sizing, admin tasks and performance tuning
- Good understanding of relational databases and SQL language
- Good knowledge of ETL
- Hands-on experience with Windows and SQL Server troubleshooting
- Experience with one of the various migration methods to Azure SQL servers using DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, backup and restore
- Openness to cover a limited amount of cross-role tasks (DBA, scripting for DevOps)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient communication skills in English

- Knowledge of the French language
