Our client, a global defense technology company based in Bern, is looking to hire an experienced Supplier Engineer to join its growing operations team. The position supports a large-scale, strategic project for the Swiss Armed Forces and offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-impact, multi-national environment.
Job Description
The Supplier Engineer will play a central role in coordinating the delivery of hardware and software components from international suppliers. The role involves overseeing delivery plans for prototypes, zero-series, and serial production systems"”ensuring compliance with agreed timelines, technical quality, and contractual obligations. You will work in close collaboration with the Supplier Manager and external partners to secure project success across all levels.
Education & Experience:
We are seeking candidates with proven experience in similar complex, multinational projects,
ideally within the defense, aerospace, or public sector in Switzerland.
The ideal profile will include:
- German or French are must have
- Experience working across cultures and international supplier networks
- Background in defense-related projects, with public stakeholders
- Experience in managing multiple suppliers, stakeholders, and deliveries involving both hardware and software
- Technical education in engineering, mechanics, or electronics
- Solid understanding of hardware/software integration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with mechanical platform integration
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of platforms and software solutions, aligned with agreed project phases (prototype, zero-series, serial)
- Ensure full adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and scope of supplier deliverables
- Manage the supplier contract lifecycle (end-to-end) including acceptance procedures, payment terms, and change management
- Monitor project milestones and report delivery progress to internal stakeholders and the Supplier Manager
- Coordinate any changes in requirements with relevant departments and ensure timely adjustments
- Act as a key liaison between engineering, procurement, and supplier teams to maintain alignment across functions
