Develop and drive local sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and cost savings for the organization and ensure representation of global initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop market knowledge and determine current and future material projections.
- Evaluate suppliers and vendor performance to conform to quality expectations and identify areas of improvements.
- Resolve vendor issues related to inbound freight, damage, labeling and deviations from quantities and products ordered.
- Negotiate and contract best alternatives for materials and services.
- Implement and sustain contracts.
- Implement improved purchasing methods to reduce costs through alternative and cost-effective processes.
- Support inventory reduction initiatives. Regularly review and maintain target inventory levels and take action to avoid shortages, out of stock material and backorders.
- Adhere and deploy the global SWEP sourcing strategies and master the global purchasing processes.
- Drive complete and accurate processing of purchase orders, credits and charge backs.
- Actively participate in new product development and transfer projects.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is desired or 10+ years related work experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in manufacturing, purchasing, or related job function
- Supplier sourcing experience preferred

- Strong negotiation and time management skills.
- Written and verbal communication in a clear and concise manner across all levels in the organization
- Good team spirit and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, ERP, and internet.
- Excellent analytical skills, detail oriented and proven problem solving ability.
- Positive attitude and be committed to achieving business excellence
