ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Senior Learning & Development Manager to join our HR department within our Operational headquarter in Basel. Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.
As a Learning & Development Manager you will have a direct reporting line to the Director Learning & Development and your main role will be to support the L&D team with the definition, roll-out and logistics of the yearly training plan, develop training content and train Viking onboard employees on soft skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Project Management: plan and coordinate L&D projects and structure L&D activities.
• Communication: design and implement internal and external communication plans for L&D activities collaborating with the HR Marketing team and serve internally as a primary contact for all L&D related inquiries.
• Program Design: develop comprehensive learning and development programs for onboard & office employees, focusing on enhancing guest excellence, leadership, behavioral and professional skills, company culture, onboarding, and well-being.
• Training Delivery: facilitate training sessions on soft skills, ensuring continuous learning through pre- and post-learning initiatives.
• Learning Needs Analysis: Take part in creating learning needs analyses by partnering with onboard operations, evolving programs to meet the needs of Viking onboard employees.
• Trainer Development: Create a "train the trainer" program to enhance pedagogical skills for external trainers supporting the L&D team during key periods.
• Budget Management: Assist the L&D Director in defining the annual L&D budget, tracking and managing it throughout the year to ensure training programs are delivered within financial constraints.
• Collaboration: Work closely with L&D team members to ensure consistency and alignment in training programs regarding message, content, pedagogy, and delivery and support the development of digital learning content.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• You have minimum 7 years of working experience in learning & development and training ideally in hospitality in an international corporate environment.
• You have strong in person training and public speaking skills, and you are comfortable to deliver face-to-face training to big and small audiences.
• You have a strong knowledge in pedagogical engineering, instructional design and a proven experience in designing, writing, and delivering training content on soft and hard skills.
• You use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with stakeholders.
• You have a strong experience in developing innovative (face to face and digital) training initiatives tailored to the different audiences including train-the-trainer.
• Strong project management skills.
• Your spoken and written English is fluent, and you are proficient in using Microsoft Office tools (including Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Positive Personality and great people skills.
EDUCATION
• You have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Psychology, Business or Human Resources or something equivalent and further certifications in training.
