Job Description
JOB TITLE: Environmental Health and Safety Student
REPORTS TO: EHS Engineer
JOB PURPOSE:
This brief demands a commitment to the goals and aspirations of Takeda Ireland Ltd. It requires the application of professional and technical skills within a manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work alongside the EHS team with specific responsibility for the following tasks;
- Drive and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace
- Review / update Chemical Control System
- Update EHS Standard Operating Procedures, forms and training
- Assist with risk assessment completion
- Assist with delivering EHS training
- Routine tasks such as updating EHS site communication
- Assist with EHS projects
- Monitor waste disposal procedures
- Review Wastewater data
- Assist with operation of waste water treatment plant
- Supporting EHS representatives
- Other duties as required and requested by the EHS Engineer or other officer as appointed
- Participate fully in any cross functional Training initiatives.
- Drive and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate fully in any cross functional training initiatives.
- Drive and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace.
- Actively foster, in cooperation with other TIL staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an integral part of the overall business. Ensure that EHS events are reported in a timely manner as per site procedures..
- Ensure timely completion of all SOP, reading, training and assessment.
- Other duties as required and directed by the relevant Manager, or other Officer appointed by the Board of Directors.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Studying towards 3rd Level Degree in EHS or Other relevant course
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Flexible
- Self motivated
- Team Player
- The ability to prioritise
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
