Job Purpose:
The role holder will report to the Europe Regulatory Reporting Managing Director.
The individual will help build, design and run a strong operation that delivers assurance over the standards of regulatory reporting for and on behalf of Citibank Europe Plc. As this function continues to evolve, they will be responsible for coordinating and leading several key regulatory reporting development workstreams.
The individual will work full-time as part of a small team in a work setting that can accommodate a ‘hybrid’ working style, made up with a mixture of home and office work locations, but they are expected to be flexible in their approach and accommodate the needs of colleagues and key stakeholders in order to make the role a success.
The individual must help deliver superior outcomes in regulatory reporting governance including assurance that existing governance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Become an expert on Europe and Citibank Europe Plc’s (CEP) regulatory reporting and support the delivery of an appropriate oversight framework.
- A skillful reporting risk and control manager.
- Ensure appropriate membership across regulatory reporting meetings and be a key point of contact for external parties wanting to engage with the Office.
- Coordination of Europe and CEP’s Regulatory Reporting metrics: preparation of materials, agenda management and compilation; meeting execution and minute taking.
- Manage papers and information to executives and further regional and global committees and CEP Board meetings.
- Understand, challenge where relevant and ensure adequacy of information from business partners of all levels.
- Developing more junior members of the team.
This role is aligned to the Regulatory Reporting function, which are responsible for the following:
- Establish controls for monitoring regulatory reports
- Utilize exception management reporting to investigate, identify and track issues to resolution
- Liaise with regulators
- Provide transparency to senior management
- Monthly governance / steering committees

Knowledge/Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the field of financial services and/or banking - specifically with regulatory reports.
- Proven exposure to and experience of governance and managing committees and Boards at a large firm with extensive reporting obligations.
- Proven experience of writing formal documents, reviewed by senior management and published internally or externally.
- Experience in or a proven understanding of how a global firm is organised; both in terms of it being a matrix-managed environment and operating under the 3 LoD model.
- Extensive business analysis skills with experience of delivering complex and varied projects.
- Proven experience developing creative solutions to problems;
- In depth industry experience with strong product, front to back and technical knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory reporting regulations such as Transaction reporting or financial reporting.
- Multiple examples of involvement in delivery of on time and on budget projects that achieve business case stated outcomes
- Good stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication and influencing
- Team player who works well with colleagues of all levels in achieving value-added results;
- Ability to build productive working relationships across Business Units, Operations departments, Internal Audit, and Compliance;
- Ability to interpret and summarize key issues to senior management and other stakeholders;
- Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard whilst under pressure;
- Understand impact of external factors (e.g. regulatory changes) on departmental strategy;
Qualifications:
- Highly likely to be educated to degree level.
- May also have post-graduate qualifications.
- Ideally possessing a relevant professional qualification.
- Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the proven skills and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Detailed understanding of how governance frameworks and committee structures operate in a global firm.
- An understanding of how regulatory requirements work and how regulatory supervision works in Europe.
- Detailed understanding of the importance of governance materials and how it impacts decision-making.
- Strong organisation and time-keeping skills.
- Good communication skills including articulation of complicated subjects.
- Detailed understanding of how to write effective papers for executives, committees and Boards.
- An understanding of risk concepts; control standards; and issues management.
- Proficient in stakeholder management and an excellent team player.
- Competent skills with Microsoft Office.
- Self-starter, able to work on initiative and organize themselves well;
- Strong upward and downward management skills to balance managerial requirements in a timely manner
- Great communication skills - to be able to articulate issues and propose solutions effectively and succinctly
- Good interpersonal communication skills which will be required for both internal and external business partners – with an ability to communicate ideas at a high level for management and at the detailed level for change development
