The Opportunity
The Trade Compliance Officer (TCO) leads trade compliance matters in the Local Business Unit (LBU) and provides them with business / solution -oriented support, under guidance of the Country Trade Compliance Officer (CTCO), aimed to comply with national and international customs and trade regulations. The TCO proactively contributes to Hitachi Energy’s risk avoidance program and trade efficiency considering LBU operational needs and its value chain processes.
We are looking for a new colleague in the Swiss Trade Compliance team to support the Grid Automation, Grid Integration and Transformers Business Units.
How You'll Make an Impact
Providing guidance and operational support to the LBU regarding:

Customs clearance

Origin determination
-
Export control
Monitoring and maintenance of trade master data and support trade compliance associated functions (SCM and Sales Order entry) especially:
-
HS codes
-
Export Control Numbers
-
Country of Origin
-
Developing a customs classification workflow in alignment with engineering and SCM.

Challenging, develop and improve trade processes of the LBUs

Maintaining close relations with CTCO, Customs clearance and Logistics department
-
Developing and carry out internal checks (internal control system) on trade compliance aspects

Contributing to and manage internal (local) and external audits (customs)
Your Background
-
Customs / SCM / Logistics background preferred (customs declarant, foreign trade specialist)
-
Several years of professional experience and sound expertise in classification and end to end supply chain processes

Experience in an industrial environment would be helpful, willingness to learn and gain technical knowledge of products, software and applied technologies should be there

Strong communication skills and a confident manner in English and German. Italian/French would be a plus

Confident handling of MS Office and knowledge of SAP/GTS an advantage
