The Global PR Manager is responsible for shaping, executing, and overseeing the brand’s global public relations strategy, ensuring alignment across 100 international markets. This role involves managing and motivating a network of local PR agencies and internal PR managers to maintain consistent and prestigious brand image worldwide. The Global PR Manager acts as the key contact between headquarters and regional teams, ensuring that all markets implement effective PR campaigns, media strategies, and brand storytelling that support the brand’s positioning in the luxury watch industry.
This role reports to the Global Marketing & Communications Director and works closely with key markets as well as key departments such as Product Marketing, Digital, social media, Events, Graphic and Merchandising/Retail to ensure a unified global message.
Tasks:
1. Global PR Strategy & Brand Messaging
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global PR strategy that reinforces the brands positioning.
- Ensure consistent brand storytelling and key messaging across all international markets.
- Serve as the guardian of the brand’s communications, ensuring every market adheres to corporate PR guidelines.
2. Market Coordination & Agency Management
- Manage and oversee local PR agencies and internal PR teams across 100 markets.
- Provide strategic guidance, training, and motivation to ensure high performance and alignment.
- Review, challenge, and approve local PR plans, press strategies, and event activations.
- Ensure optimal media coverage, influencer collaborations, and brand visibility in key regions.
- Develop a clear performance measurement framework for all markets, tracking and evaluating PR impact.
- Develop and manage a strong network of international journalists.
3. Media & Influencer Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with global tier-one media, journalists, and influencers in the luxury, lifestyle, watchmaking, and business sectors.
- Support and advise markets in developing strong media relationships and securing top-tier press placements.
- Act as the spokesperson for the brand when necessary, handling high-profile media opportunities.
- Create press materials, media kits, and interview guidelines for international use.
- Oversee E-PR (Key Opinion Leader) relations in coordination with the Communication & Marketing Manager for Europe
4. Content Management:
- Write content for various communication materials (press releases, website, newsletters, biographies, interviews, brochure, Point of Sale Materials (POSM), etc.)
- Ensure message alignment and consistency with the brand’s editorial guidelines
- Support the digital team by proofreading B2C newsletters
- Create press newsletters for each product launch or announcement
- Update the press lounge
- Create press releases in collaboration with an external copywriter
- Coordinate interviews with Top Management, including ghost-writing
5. PR Events & Activations
- Lead the global coordination of PR activations (agenda), including product launches, media trips, and international watch fairs (e.g., Watches & Wonders, Geneva Watch Days, Dubai Watch Week,…).
- Provide markets with structured event toolkits and ensure seamless execution at local levels.
- Ensure VIP media and influencer engagement at global brand events.
- Monitor event coverage and optimize ROI on PR activations.
- Coordinate and guide press and E-PR visits to the manufacture
- Conduct product presentations
- Provide support to ambassadors and partners during events or special activations
6. Press Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish clear KPIs for PR performance, ensuring regular reporting from all markets.
- Oversee global media monitoring, press clipping analysis, and PR impact assessment.
- Provide monthly executive reports on PR performance, market insights, and recommendations.
Profile & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PR, with a strong background in luxury, fashion, or watchmaking industries.
- Proven experience in managing international markets, PR agencies, and global campaigns.
- Strong network within luxury lifestyle, business, and watch/trade media.
Skills & Competencies
- Expert in global PR strategy, luxury brand storytelling, and media engagement.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and support a global network of agencies and PR teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
- Deep understanding of digital PR, influencer marketing, and evolving media landscapes.
- Ability to analyse PR performance data and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Exceptional organizational skills for a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Pro-active and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in PR tools, media databases, and analytics platforms.
- Capable of working with InDesign, DMR and HubSpot
