The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal support for both contentious and non-contentious matters in the trading and shipping sectors. The role includes managing disputes, providing strategic legal advice, and mitigating risks across multiple business areas.

Description

Advise on and manage disputes, including litigation and arbitration, related to trading and shipping activities.

Provide legal support on non-contentious matters such as drafting and negotiating contracts, agreements, and terms for trading and shipping.

Identify and address legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Oversee external legal counsel and manage legal fees and relationships.

Deliver training and report on legal issues to internal teams and management.
Profile
The ideal candidate :
- Is UK qualified lawyer.
- Has at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in handling trading and shipping disputes.
- Possess strong knowledge of commercial law, particularly in energy or commodities trading, and have excellent communication skills in English (French fluency is a plus).
