Introduction:
A prominent technology company operating in the defense and security sector is seeking an experienced Radio & Intercom Technician to support a major long-term project within the Swiss public defense landscape.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will join the Field Engineering & Technical Support team and provide hands-on technical support in a variety of operational environments "” including labs, factories, and tactical military platforms.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic field conditions and is passionate about communication systems and problem-solving in mission-critical settings.
Training & Development:
Technicians will benefit from structured on-the-job training provided by experienced team members, enabling them to master internal procedures and specialized systems. Internships or prior hands-on experience in radio communications centers will be a strong asset.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Preferred: Associate's degree or post-secondary technical certificate.
- Proven experience with RF testing tools such as VSWR meters, RF analyzers, and voltmeters.
- Strong knowledge of tactical radio and intercom systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting systems in field or lab environments.
- Previous exposure to military communication systems or platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, install, and maintain communication equipment, including radios, intercoms, and related hardware.
- Support users by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on-site and in lab settings.
- Perform diagnostic tests and ensure the proper functioning of systems in tactical military environments.
- Install and configure hardware/software for optimal system performance.
- Operate and interpret results from measuring instruments in both lab and field conditions.
- Collaborate with team members to implement technical solutions and field adjustments.
- Evaluate and test new hardware and software components as part of system upgrades or integration.
