What You'll Do:
SkyCell’s Embedded IoT team is at the forefront of developing our next-generation IoT devices, which are integral to our global network of temperature-controlled containers. These devices ensure the safe and secure delivery of life-saving pharmaceuticals, with sustainability at the core of everything we do. The team uses modern, standard technology, focusing on reliability and security, and is proud to be a great and esteemed counterpart of our hardware, software, and cloud teams.
In this role you'll also:
- Ensure from early stage prototypes to high volume mass production the quality, manufacturability, reliability, scalability and cost optimization of our IoT product portfolio
- Define and drive implementation of design improvements (firmware, hardware, housing and production testers) and process improvements in cross-functional teams (IoT Research and Development, Operations & Validation, Supply Chain Management)
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for loggers and gateways, including assembly, testing (including development of acc. tooling), and quality control procedures
- Define quality and performance metrics for production and operation in the field and drive implementation of the acc. monitoring systems
- In-depth technical support (3rd Level) for issues of loggers and gateways in the field and production issues
- Root cause analysis of field and production issues and drive containment, corrective and preventive actions
- Drive continuous improvements to increase the quality of our IoT product portfolio
- Support documentation of manufacturing processes, specifications, and quality standards for IoT loggers
- Support evaluation of new suppliers
- Support hardware verification and regulatory testing of IoT devices and manage IoT test lab onsite in Zürich
- Support early stage proof of concepts of new products and development projects in building and testing prototypes
- Proven experience in industrialization and manufacturing of complete electronic devices (including manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, PCB manufacturing & assembly, and product testing)
- Experience in IoT technologies, including sensors, embedded systems, wireless communication protocols
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC, CE, RoHS, Security, …) and quality standards for electronic devices (IP protection, environmental testing standards)
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage cross-functional initiatives
- Experience in statistical analysis (e.g. six sigma)
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis is a plus
- Regular onsite work in Zürich office required
- Ability to travel occasionally for supplier visits, prototype testing, and production ramp-up activities
