The Rare Disease Unit Commercial Leadership Associate (CLA) contributes to the development and execution of commercial operations, increasing the value of Alexion AstraZeneca's portfolio. This program builds candidates’ critical acuity to enable future success in the biotech industry by working across commercial functions, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Strategy.
Our three-year rotational program combines hands-on experience with unparalleled networking opportunities designed to accelerate career development. The CLA will have the opportunity to participate in three 12-month rotations, each aligned to a key business challenge and function. Beyond gaining insights across different areas of the US business, this experience will provide differentiated development opportunities to build leadership, management, and coaching abilities.
What you'll do:
The CLA is responsible for working with Alexion’s US Commercial teams to develop and measure aspects of marketing and commercial operations to aid in driving business insights and initiatives. Work will be project-based with the potential to focus on, but not limited to:
- Marketing: positioning, messaging, campaign development, launch/lifecycle planning, brand planning, opportunity assessments, etc.
- Market Access: Channel leadership, contracting strategy, etc.
- Business Operations: data strategy, business analytics, field force sizing and incentives, expansion of omnichannel and digital transformation strategies, etc.
Essential Skills/Experience
- MBA Graduation dates: December 2024/June 2025
- Proven academic achievement
- Maximum of 2-6 years of work experience prior to MBA- preferably within pharma/biotech
- Must work on-site in the Boston Seaport office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding work ethic
- Agility/Leadership Potential
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Pharmaceutical and multi-industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of the market access landscape and experience with secondary analysis
- Experience in managed markets' internal and external information sources including sales data reporting, analysis, and customer targeting strategies/method.
- Analytical skills including problem-solving, forecasting, contract development, and financial modeling.
