Overview
At 9T Labs we are constantly developing our products and growing our brand and customer base to achieve our ambitious company goals. We are currently looking for a motivated, curious, autonomous and innovative Production Engineering Intern.
Do you have a start-up mindset? Do you want to make a difference by helping make the world's manufacturing dramatically more sustainable, efficient and high-performance? If you do, we'd love to hear from you!
What is the role
With a key role in our team, reporting to the Head of Hardware Development, you will help to further develop the future of composite printing, supporting 9T’s mission to advance high-performance applications in a sustainable way.
Together with a team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers, you will have the opportunity to work on the production of parts for customer projects and be at the forefront of thermoplastic carbon fiber manufacturing. You will be involved in the design, prototyping and production processes of customer and internal R&D projects.
Your mission
You will work closely together with our hardware development and engineering team to support the creation of meaningful carbon fiber designs for customer projects and internal testing. You will make sure that designed parts are produced on time, with the correct specifications and within our quality criteria.
After 1 month you will…
- Know the company structure, values and goals.
- Know our additive manufacturing solutions, our products’ capabilities and our target markets.
- Know the relevant people within 9T Labs.
- Be comfortable operating our production machines and know your way around our design software.
- Be tasked with your own production projects and reliably support our internal part production.
- Be able to work independently on our design software and iterate on composite designs with our engineers.
- Give inputs on our process parameters and stability, and provide hands-on support with our daily prototyping and production.
- Be able to troubleshoot and give suggestions on how to improve our production equipment.
- Be able to pinpoint improvement possibilities to facilitate composite design with our manufacturing solution.
What you need to bring to the role
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, robotics, electronics or software engineering.
- You have some experience in 3D printing-related technologies or products (ideally FDM).
- Ideally you are familiar with Gcode and 3D printing firmware.
- You have proven hands-on experience working with robotics or mechatronics projects.
- Some experience operating industrial production machines would be a plus.
- You’ve had first touchpoints with composite design and are willing to deep-dive into this area.
- You have experience working in fast-paced environments and in cross-functional and multinational project teams
- You enjoy providing detailed and precise feedback and understand the importance of documentation.
Fluent in English (at least C1).
What leads to success
- You are curious and passionate about additive manufacturing technologies and innovation in general.
- You have a pragmatic, constructive and results-oriented approach.
- You are analytical and structured, with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
- You are known for your precision, attention to detail, and persistence.
- You have a knack for product improvement and process optimization.
- You are autonomous and self-driven, yet a team player, with a positive attitude, strong verbal and written communication.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit, you share our values, and you understand how start-ups work - which means you can balance speed, quality and output.
What we offer
- A place where everyone cares about making an impact.
- 20 paid holidays (per full calendar year).
- Paid-time-off surrounding personal life changing events.
- Flexible working time and work location.
- Events for exchange, learning, culture, sports and general fun.
