The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to strengthen our Building X - Fire Safety team in the Global Headquarters organization of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. This role is key to bring the digitalization of our Fire Safety business to the next level leveraging our Building X platform, to safeguard and maximize its success. Building X is a scalable digital building platform to digitalize, manage and optimize building operations, allowing for enhanced user experience, increased performance, and improved sustainability.
Our Building X - Fire Safety team is dedicated to simplifying Fire safety tasks and workflows along the building lifecycle, as well as to create unique new value-add services to improve safety, system performance and stay ahead of competition.
Your new responsibilities
- Drive, shape & own the success of you Building X Fire Apps portfolio to creating an edge for both fire safety end customers and solution & service partners
- Successfully coordinate & interact with other expert Product Managers as well as the broader Building X team, both locally and globally, who are contributing to the end-to-end solution
- Ensure a seamless interplay of Fire safety hardware, Edge connectivity and Cloud software end-to-end ensuring a high quality and reliability in all aspects
- Identify business opportunities to increase adoption and deployment of our portfolio in our global markets comprising both technical (e.g. new features) and non-technical (e.g. documentation, training, promotion, ...) measures
- Maintain a high level of market proximity by understanding business priorities of our customers and regularly reviewing sales performance, partnering closely with our colleagues in the local country organizations
- Understand operational day-to-day workflows of our users hands-on by a combination of in-field observations and usage analytics
- Manage your offerings across the entire product lifecycle from strategy to operative activities involving all relevant internal and external partners, being part of both the Building X and Fire Safety teams
- Ensure result driven and agile product development to maximize the value and success of the portfolio
- Align with our product management colleagues locally and globally, pro-actively anticipate and coordinate inter-dependencies
Your skills and experience
- A university degree or higher education in engineering or related field
- A few years of professional experience, ideally in customer centric product management, related to business digitalization
- Background in fire safety or related building management systems / services would be a strong advantage
- Business acumen and a strategic mindset paired with technical affinity and "hands-on" mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to be able to interact with stakeholders at all levels and be effective as part of a broader distributed team
- Fluency in English is a prerequisite, candidates speaking German, or any other European language have an edge
