We are seeking a Public Affairs Specialist - Senior Manager Rare Disease Corporate Affairs to support public affairs initiatives, policy engagement, and stakeholder communications on behalf of our client in the healthcare sector. The role involves advocacy, government relations, and external communication to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and healthcare policies. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, government agencies, industry associations, and patient advocacy groups.

Reports to: Global Corporate Affairs, Corporate Affairs International, ICoE Rare Disease Team, Affiliate Leads
Key Responsibilities
Rare Disease Communications (40%)
- Support the Rare Disease Corporate Affairs Lead in executing communication projects and programs that position the company as a leader in rare diseases.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an integrated corporate affairs strategy to enhance visibility for the rare disease portfolio (FA, SMA, ALS).
- Develop and align brand communication initiatives, including company milestones, data readouts, and congresses.
- Collaborate with global teams to create adaptable communication materials (press releases, Q&As, standby statements, etc.).
- Organize and participate in Corporate Affairs Taskforces to optimize regional support and conduct training sessions for affiliate teams.
Rare Disease Stakeholder Engagement & External Communication (30%)
- Support the Rare Disease Corporate Affairs Lead in media relations and external engagement for rare disease stakeholders (FA, SMA, ALS).
- Drive integrated corporate affairs activities in collaboration with corporate communications, media relations, social media, and patient advocacy teams.
- Provide strategic guidance to affiliates on media engagement and local outreach efforts.
Strategic Guidance & Operational Support (25%)
- Execute external communication initiatives to increase awareness of the rare disease brands.
- Ensure compliance with corporate communication and disclosure policies.
- Develop localized communication strategies tailored to international markets.
- Work cross-functionally with global teams to develop effective communication tools.
Performance Tracking & Industry Insights (5%)
- Develop measurable goals to track the success of external communication strategies.
- Stay updated on internal and external industry developments affecting rare diseases.
- Monitor best practices in corporate communications and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Work with agency partners to assess performance metrics and optimize communication strategies.
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or Life Sciences).
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in corporate and/or marketing communications roles.
- Languages: Native English speaker.
- Based in Switzerland working in the International HQ (Baar, Canton Zug)
